Summer Enhancement Camp PROGRAM

Genesis and Light Center (“G&L”) Summer Enhancement Camp will offer structured educational activities that enhance participants reading, language arts, and STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). G&L camp will also offer students recreational activities such as swimming, basketball, arts and crafts, field trips, and various games. AmeriCorps VISTA summer associates will enhance our summer services for low income children and families and address issues related to education and poverty. This ten week camp is geared toward preventing summer learning loss, building self-esteem, and strengthening students educationally who attend Title 1 schools. Additional activities include arts and crafts workshops, music and drama workshops, an escape room adventure, various games, programs featuring motivational speakers, as well as prevention workshops on bullying, drug use/abuse, violent behavior, and gangs/criminal involvement.
